Tickets for the 4th Annual CityBeat Festival of Beers go on sale at 3pm today. Looks like they haven’t released the list of participating breweries but they are having a special VIP session this year with some exclusive beers. The festival takes place Saturday, April 9th on El Cajon Blvd.

Proceeds to Benefit Two Non-profit Organizations Supporting Local Music and Craft Brew Communities

SAN DIEGO – February 3, 2011 – Bringing together two of San Diego’s best known exports, craft brewing and music, the CityBeat Festival of Beers is back for its fourth year to raise funds for the San Diego Music Foundation and San Diego Brewers’ Guild.

Featuring food, local music and more than 30 breweries, this year’s Festival takes place Saturday, April 9 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on El Cajon Boulevard, in front of the historic Lafayette Hotel, located at 2223 El Cajon Blvd.  The event has sold out at this location for the past three years.

Advance tickets can be purchased beginning February 4th at 3 p.m. online at www.citybeatbeerfest.com or in person on the day of and include unlimited beer samplings, food vendors and live local music throughout the day at the Bar Pink stage. The event highlights breweries from across the region and features live performances from Tape Deck MountainStevie & the Hi StaxxMaren Parusel andLittle Hurricane.

“We’re looking forward to another successful event and encourage everybody to purchase tickets early since the Festival has sold out the past three years,” said Kevin Hellman, publisher of San Diego CityBeat and president of the San Diego Music Foundation.  “This is a great opportunity to come out and sample some of San Diego’s best local brews, enjoy local music and support two local non-profit organizations that work to support San Diego’s growing music and craft brew communities. San Diego is at the forefront of the craft beer movement, which makes this such an exciting event.”

New for 2011, a VIP ticket allows entrance to the event an hour before the doors open to the public, beginning at 1pm.  A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $42 online at www.citybeatbeerfest.com and include early entry, up to ten special, hard to find beers from area breweries, as well as in & out. VIP tickets will not be available for purchase on the day of the event.  General admission tickets can be purchased in advance for $32, or for $37 on the day of the event, pending availability.  Both VIP and General admission tickets will be available starting at 3pm on Friday, February 4, online at www.citybeatbeerfest.com.  All ticket buyers will receive an official souvenir taster cup upon entry.

This year’s event participants include the Blind Lady AlehouseHamilton’s Tavern and The Live Wire.  These area pubs will be on site at the festival sampling some of the local brews served in their establishments. In addition to San Diego CityBeat, this years event sponsors include 91X, Bar Pink, Yelp.com, and PubQuest.com.
